Privacy Policy

PlayTVH (“the App”) is a client for your own TVHeadend server. We designed it to keep your viewing data on your devices and your server.

Data we do not collect

• We do not operate a PlayTVH cloud account for channel lists, EPG, or recordings.
• We do not sell personal data.
• Live streams and recordings are fetched directly from the TVHeadend server you configure.

Data stored on your device

• Server settings — host, port, credentials, stream profiles, and optional Wake-on-LAN MAC address are stored in secure on-device storage.
• Preferences — theme, sleep timer defaults, favorites, reminders, and similar settings.
• Offline downloads — recording files may be stored in the App’s private documents directory.

Purchases

The App is sold as a paid download through Apple App Store / Google Play. Payment is processed by the store; we do not receive your payment card details.

Network access

The App contacts your configured TVHeadend server over your network (HTTP or HTTPS, depending on how you set up the server). It may also use local network discovery (mDNS / LAN scan) and optional Wake-on-LAN broadcasts. Support links may open playtvh.app or your email client.

On iPhone, iPad, and Android phones/tablets, optional Chromecast uses Google’s Cast framework to discover nearby Cast devices and send a stream URL from your TVHeadend server to the Cast device. Cast discovery uses local network / Bonjour services. We do not operate a Cast relay; the Cast device fetches media from your server.

When you use Chromecast, share, copy link, or QR for an external player, the stream URL may include your TVHeadend username and password in the URL (HTTP Basic userinfo) so the receiver can authenticate. Treat shared links like passwords, and prefer a dedicated streaming user with limited rights.

Notifications

With your permission, the App may show local notifications for programme reminders and completed downloads. These are scheduled on-device.

Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region).
